Knowledge Computing Corporation, a respected leader in crime fighting technology solutions, closed a second round of funding totaling $2 million. Tucson-based Diamond Ventures led the round with additional support from Telepeak Investments, Ltd. and the Primus Technology Fund.

Knowledge Computing Corporation is profitable.  Funding will be used to accelerate nationwide deployment of COPLINK, the Company's groundbreaking crime-fighting solution.

"COPLINK is the proven, frontline crime-fighting solution for hometown security and homeland defense," said Bob Griffin, CEO of Knowledge Computing Corporation.  "This investment provides additional resources for meeting our goal to build the first nationwide crime-fighting network that begins at the local law enforcement office, extends throughout every state, and bolsters homeland security."

COPLINK allows for unparalleled analysis and decision support capability for rapidly identifying criminal suspects, relationships and patterns that can help solve and prevent crime.  The solution is also promising for use in prevention of domestic terrorism.

"Under Bob's leadership, Knowledge Computing Corporation continues to surpass our expectations with a superior product, an exponentially growing base of satisfied clients, and a solid return on investment," said Donald R. Diamond, Chairman of Diamond Ventures, Inc.

COPLINK technology allows local, state and federal law enforcement agencies to collect, consolidate and share information across all boundaries.  It works by allowing vast quantities of structured and seemingly unrelated data, currently housed in incompatible computer-based record management systems, to be organized under a single, highly secure intranet-based platform.  COPLINK intuitively integrates information from multiple sources, while at the same time preserving the integrity of the original data source. When COPLINK is used to create regional information sharing networks, each participating agency controls what data is shared, with whom and when, allowing for the creation of ad hoc regional task forces to address specific criminal activity.

COPLINK is capable of integrating an unlimited number of public data sources currently accessible to law enforcement.  Examples include arrest records, traffic citations, sex offenders, mug shots, fingerprints, drivers licenses, motor vehicle registrations, field interviews, firehouse data, utility bills and pawn broker records to name a few.  The solution is affordable and scaleable, allowing cities, counties, states and national law enforcement agencies to connect and work together across jurisdictional boundaries to detect crime.

Designed by former law enforcement officials, COPLINK is tactically sophisticated yet user-friendly.  Even the most non-technical law enforcement officials can master it in less than a day.  By the end of 2003, COPLINK will be deployed in nearly 30 distinct locations nationwide, including multi-state and regional information sharing networks.  The solution was most recently brought online in Boston, Massachusetts to support over 3000 police officers in fighting crime and improving community safety.
